History & Facilities

Stony Creek Services has been providing insulation solutions to the Great Lakes and Tri-State region since 1982. The company moved into its new 15,000sf facility in February of 2005, providing additional warehouse storage and room for its continuing business expansion.  Our large warehouses and office give us the ability to store several days of materials, enough to begin work on almost any size project while waiting for shipments of additional product from our manufacturers.

Stony Creek Services’ main headquarters are located in Westland, Michigan. This location provides instant access to southeastern Michigan and it’s vast network of freeways, allowing teams to mobilize quickly for work throughout the area.

Stony Creek Services acquired Associated Applicators in Kalamazoo, Michigan in late 2013.  This acquisition allowed us to broaden our client base by offering spray foam roofing repairs and new installations.  To allow for the continued growth of our roofing division, we moved our offices to Galesburg, Michigan.  This new facility also has 15,000sf of warehouse space to facilitate all of the roofing operations that are performed every year and allow for the storage of additional material to better serve our clients on shorter notice.

Stony Creek Services, Inc is also pleased to announce the recent hire of David Schoenmann and Kevin Podann to spearhead our efforts as we branch out into the Virginia / Greater Washington D.C. market!  We will be providing the same great service, quality of installation, and expertise that all of our clients have come to expect.

Equipment

Stony Creek Services maintains self-contained heated trailers for foam and cellulose insulation applications, complete with application equipment, generators and compressors. Our use of self-contained systems allows us to work regardless of the utilities in place on site. Being self-contained and mobile also us to access many different areas of a jobsite, giving Stony Creek Services the ability better serve our clients needs.

Safety

The construction industry is fraught with the potential for accidents and injuries, meaning that we must stay vigilant and mindful of the ever changing hazards presented to workers each day. Our goal from day one has been, and always will be, to have zero accidents, near misses or lost work days.  While this may be a challenging goal, it is not unattainable.

In an effort to achieve and maintain this goal, Stony Creek Services has encorporated the “M.U.S.T.” program (Management and Unions Serving Together) as one tool used to educate and implement safety standards, which are recognized as some of the most stringent in the industry. This online training serves as a way to keep our workers up-to-date on possible hazards and the best way to recognize these hazards and go home safe to their families every day.  Above and beyond this training, all foreman are OSHA 30-Hour trained to ensure that each crew can be as safe as possible.  Lastly, all workers are equipped with specialized lift and equipment training, confined space training, and special training from manufacturers (as applicable) to ensure our people work to the safest standards possible.

Insurance & Bonding

Stony Creek Services maintains “A” rated insurance including commercial general liability, excess liability, workers compensation and employer’s’ liability.

Our insurance carrier can provide additional insured certificates in a timely manner as well as address other specific insurance related inquiries. Stony Creek Services has the ability to obtain proposal and performance bonding for specific projects that require this financial assurance. The ability to obtain a bond demonstrates a company’s financial stability as bonding criteria has become increasingly stringent in recent years.
